This is a transferred post from my previous wordpress blog published on: Mar 16, 2009.
I'm doing alot of work that revolves around George Orwell at the minute - focusing mainly on his time during the Spanish Civil War and on his Journalism rather than his novels... Basically I picked the most academic looking module on my MA course options to break up the portfolios (and I'll still have a feature to do for it lol).
Anyway, back in 2003 it was the 100th birthday of Eric Arthur Blair (Orwell) and they had a night on BBC 2 dedicated to him (of course). During the night there were several programmes including the 1954 BBC live television play of Nineteen Eighty-Four starring Peter Cushing, AND this documentary called George Orwell: A Life in Pictures.
Basically it is full of mock photos, film, and audio footage of Orwell where an actor (I forget his name) recites parts of Orwell's essays.
