Infernus wins Gorgoroth case

This is a transferred post from my previous wordpress blog published on: Mar 10, 2009.

I'm in two minds about this victory. For a long time it was obvious Infernus wasn't contributing much to Gorgoroth, and that Gaahl and King were picking up the pieces. Due to Gaahl and King Gorgoroth is bigger than it ever was before them.

However, kicking a founding member out of the band and applying for the copyright to the name and logo behind his back is pretty underhanded.

After all is said and done, it is still going to be the next albums released that will see who the real winners are regardless of the names of the bands.

Infernus has the name and therefore the record deal, and Gaahl & King have an album that would have been the next Gorgoroth release... so a different name on the cover and they have an instantly notorious band that the labels will want to put out.

I can't deny that it wasnt a mess - Infernus got screwed over, but at the same time I was looking forward to seeing where Gaahl and King were going to go with it.

Anyway the full story is on www.blabbermouth.net if you're interestead in the details of the case and the witnesses called.
